The fourth annual Scripps Innovation Challenge is set to kick off with a bang – free food, giveaways and door prizes, a musical performance by Section Eight, and entertainment by Black Sheep Improv – at 6 p.m. today (Sept. 21) in Baker University Center Ballroom A.
The event is an information session to provide all in attendance specific details about the Scripps Innovation Challenge, one of the nation’s premier student innovations contests, and its large cash prizes.
In the program, students — individually or in teams — choose from a range of real-world media or communication “challenges” and produce innovative solutions to them. The competitors are narrowed to seven finalists, who then pitch their ideas before a panel of industry professionals in March and are guaranteed a share of the $25,000 prize pot. All OHIO students, undergraduates and graduates, regardless of major, are encouraged to apply. Registration to compete closes Nov. 20.
