Students interested in the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, which provides up to $7,500 per year for students’ educational expenses, are encouraged to submit a campus application by the deadline on Monday, Oct. 26.
This prestigious, national scholarship is open to sophomore and junior undergraduates in STEM majors who display intellectual curiosity and are interested in careers in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering, with a focus on research. Candidates will be selected for the scholarship based upon academic record, demonstrated interest in research and a well-developed research plan.
In order to be considered, students must fill out an internal application that will be reviewed by Ohio University’s Selection Committee. From these applications, the committee will then nominate four students to the national pool. Up to 260 scholarships will be awarded nationwide.
