Ohio University students and faculty attend the Ohio Advanced Energy Economy Conference

A selection of Ohio University students from a variety of programs on campus and Associate Professor Derek Kauneckis, Campus Sustainability Specialist Elaine Goetz, and Upgrade Athens County Director Sarah Conley (MPA OU) attended the Ohio Advanced Energy Economy conference in Columbus. The conference focused on the future of the energy sector and included a morning keynote form Megan Ceronsky, White House Senior Policy Advisor on Climate Change; panels of state business and energy industry executives including Procter & Gamble, Kroger, Honda and Emerson, Columbia Gas of Ohio, Melink Corporation, and Go Sustainable Energy; and state Senator Ciff Hite and Representative Jack Cera on changes to Ohio’s energy future. Students were able to hear about emerging policy innovations, understand energy entrepreneurship, and network with the business, government and industry leaders developing the future of Ohio energy.
