Jessica Collura, Voinovich School research associate, lead a presentation and discussion on youth empowerment as a vehicle for community change at the September 23 meeting of the Ohio Adolescent Health Partnership. The meeting featured additional discussions relevant to adolescent health including youth development and resiliency, access to care and more.
Collura’s work at the Voinovich School focuses on engaging young people in local settings in order to promote the healthy development of youth and communities. Jessica has published several journal articles and book chapters on the topics of youth organizing for school and community reform, youth violence prevention and positive youth development. She is also the co-author of a training manual designed for community coalitions and organizations interested in engaging young people as leaders. Click here to read her full bio.
