I am a twenty-something recent graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism here at Ohio University with a degree in journalism and a concentration in public relations. During my undergraduate career, my outside internship experienced focused primarily on strategic communications as related to social media. I am very passionate about politics and aviation, and hope to one day work as a press secretary or social media manager for a politician or working as a PR/social media coordinator for an airport.
I was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia and being a product of Appalachia has given me a unique perspective on life and a drive to make a difference not only where I am from, but in a more broad sense as well.
Outside of my studies, I am a competitive synchronized skater and have been coaching the sport since I was 16. I have been coaching here in Athens since coming to OU, which has allowed me to become deeply connected to the Athens community.
This summer, I am working full time on the congressional campaign of the congresswoman in my district. After graduation, I hope to move to Washington, D.C., but am keeping an open mind about where I’ll end up. I have a passion for life and can’t wait to see where my journey will take me.
